We are a family run, 10 barrel brewery, with the ability to produce 360 gallons of Craft Ale daily, with water from our own fresh water spring, which is on site.

We are located 10 minutes from the center of Bristol, just off from the M32. A true Bristol Brewery

Making real ale was always a dream of Kevin (founder of GWB). Ideas of putting a brew plant next to the pub (The Rising Sun, Frampton Cotterell) had always been in the back of his mind until an old derelict bakery (Turners bakery, Hambrook) went up for sale in 2006. It was quickly snapped up and so became The Great Western Brewing Company Ltd.

We take sustainability very seriously at GWB, Nothing is wasted.
The spent malt from the mashtun is collected by our local farmer, Ray (86 Years young), who feeds the grain to his cattle.
The Spent hops (used as fertilizer) is picked up by a few locals who have allotments close by.

We have converted the Old Turners Bakery into a show-piece real ale brewery with a shop at the front.
