Analytical Laboratory Technician

The Analytical Laboratory Technician performs in-house and client sample analysis on a variety of products including beer, wine, spirits, and kombucha.
Essential Functions & Duties: 

• Receives and processes samples for analysis.
• Prepares and performs analysis on beer, wine, kombucha, and spirit samples using laboratory analytical equipment including Beer Alcolyzer, Spectrophotometer, Gas Chromatograph, and HPLC.
• Utilizes a variety of microbiological techniques in the analysis of samples, including Plating, Gram Stain, Microscopy, and PCR Techniques.
• Utilizes QBench to maintain and log accurate analytical results.
• Prepares media/stock solutions used in the lab.
• Prepares customer lab supply orders.
• Assists with customer support.
• Maintains overall lab cleanliness.
• Collaborates with Analytical Lab Manager to assess needs for additional testing services and methods for product analysis.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science, Brewing Science, or related field required.
• 1+ years of Laboratory Technician experience required – preferably in chemical or microbiological analysis.
• Knowledge of brewing and the brewing process required.
• Working knowledge of the following lab equipment required: Microscope, Centrifuge, Spectrophotometer, Gas Chromatograph, and HPLC.
